The manufacturer story
The history of our company dates back to the late 19th century, when Michele Genua, the founder of the family, began cultivating about 15 hectares of land in the locality of Preta Chiana, an area adjacent to the Carmasciano district in the territory of Frigento. Michele produced forage, cereals, and raised a flock from which he obtained excellent pecorino cheese. This agricultural and dairy tradition has been passed down for five generations, continuously improving until the current management by Mrs. Lucia. With the support of her husband, Genua Carmine, and the help of their children Michele, Milena, and Massimo, Lucia continues to produce gastronomic excellences with resilience and dedication.
Our flock, consisting of about fifty sheep predominantly of the Laticauda breed, is raised using the semi-wild method, offering the sheep space and freedom. The animals are not raised in stables, and we do not use any industrial feed or antibiotics.
The manufacturer philosophy
Our values are deeply rooted in respect for the environment, animals, and people. Our farming practices are aimed at minimizing environmental impact by adopting traditional methods reinterpreted through new agronomic practices such as organic farming and conservation agriculture. We never use chemical fertilizers or pesticides, thus ensuring the purity and quality of our products.
